Hot Off The Grille!

For the longest time I have been trying for a more "blacked out" look for the front of the Mistress.  Tinted headlights, painted emblem and then a  black chrome emblem.  Well, in that search I came across Classic Design Concepts and their Black Billet Replacement Grille. Unfortunately they have only released the GT version, with the V6 version in the works.  Well, after explaining my dire need for a replacement grille, the wonderful folks at CDC graciously agreed to make their GT grille fit my V6! WOOHOO!

Now, this was the first time I had been to CDC.  Very nice facility with a lot of amazing cars in the showroom!  I was introduced to Patrick who would be handling the install.  He was very polite and courteous... promising to take good care of the Mistress.  He took the keys and then disappeared back into the install area.

He reappeared after an hour or so... the operation was a complete success!!!  He was able to fab up a couple of bottom brackets and was able to shave the bottom bars of the grille so it would no rub, since the V6 has a smaller opening.  The results were stunning!!! It was the exact look i was going for!

Now one thing I noticed... This grille definitely let more air in!  With the Dashhawk I monitor the engine coolant temps. With the stock grille the coolant temps were consistently   203 to 205 degrees. With the new CDC grill my temps are now 196 to 199 degrees.  Not a huge change, but it does show that the grille is definitely letting more air go by!
