Now that we had dressed the rear to of the car
up with a set of MRT Rear Window Louvers, it was time to take a look at the
front of the car. So once again I asked Scott "Whatta ya got?"
Scott had the answer! The MRT Interceptor Hood Scoop!
To get an idea what it would look like Scott pulled one out of stock and set
it on my car. Well the MRT website
(www.mrt-direct.com)
says that the Interceptor hood scoop is "not for the shy and timid." Boy is
that ever true! This hood scoop is HUGE and very intimidating! It is a
replica of the hood scoop on the 1969 BOSS 429.
Scoop set in place to give us an idea of what it would look like.
After seeing this bad boy on my car... Scott closed the sale!
The next step was to have the scoop painted.
So it was off to Carl's Auto Body in Hemlock!
Another great job by Carl!
So now with the hood scoop all prepped and painted it was time to head back
to MRT to have Scott and his crew complete the install!
Scott creates a template for the bolt holes
The template is taped in place so the holes can be drilled.
Scott takes the drill to the hood! While one of the crew looks on.
Scott mounts the front plate. MRT is working on a kit to make the scoop
functional!
Scott and his crew mount the hood scoop in place.
Here it is!
With the installation complete it was time to
head over to Sign Image! Sign Image did the initial vinyl stripes one the
car. Now I needed them to extend the stripe to the top of the sccop!
Greg marks the vinyl. Due to all the compound angles on the very tip of the
scoop, there is no way to wrap the vinyl all the way over the edge.
The main stripe is put down.
Now the pin stripe is added.
The finished scoop!!!
So with the hood scoop completely finished I grabbed a couple of out door
snap shots! They are not the best... but you get the idea!
