A Little Bit of Black Magic

So I promsied the Mrs. I wouldn't turn this car into another Show Car and be gone every weekend.  Well, that doesn't mean I can't do some simple little things to improve the cars looks, right?

With the additon of the black ralleye stripes it quickly became apparent that the car was going to have a Red and Black theme.  Now I don't mind the Chevy bow tie emblem from a design stanpoint.  The over sized bow tie emblem is displayed prominetly on the nose of the car, which is fine.  HOWEVER,  emblem is very GOLD!  The gold was really just to overpowering and simply didn't fit with the Red and Black theme that was developing!  What was I to do!

The answer was simple!  Ask Scott!  I was down at MRT doing the final fit test for the MRT axle back exhaust when I asked Scott if he happened to have any black vinyl.  Sure enough Scott had a roll of some nice flat black vinyl! So Scott cut a square of the black vinyl and laid it over the rear emblem and flattened it out.  Using a razor blade Scott adeptly sliced the excess vinyl off leaving a perfectly covered emblem!  He then moved to the front and started on the grill emblem.  The front emblem is a bit more tricky with it's compound angles but Scott was able to do a great job after only a couple of false starts.  The whole thing turned out fabulously!
