2009 Camaro Dream Cruise Kickoff

Thursday evening there was a Pre-Woodward Dream Cruise Kick-off Camaro Car Show. I decided to make the trip down to the Dream Cruise a day early to attend the show and meet some of the local Camaro owners (being that I'm a new Camaro owner)

And her name is...

What's in a Name?

So with a new car comes a new name.   Now naming my 2005 V6 Mustang was pretty easy.  My wife, Tammy, told me one day, "You spend more time and money with that car than me! You might as well have a mistress!"  And with that the Mistress was born!  With the new 2010 V6 Camaro.... well...  I knew she needed a name but nothing really stood out. Until...

New Tires and Wheels!

New Tires and Wheels

I bought a new set of rear tires for Ivy.  I decided to try out a set of Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag Radials.  The stock tires are 275/40/20 but I also decided to go with a little wider tire and ordered 305/35/20s.  The 305s were a little wide for the stock 9 inch RS wheel, but would still work okay.

Adding a CAI to the V6 Camaro

Adding an Injen Cold Air Intake

With spring quickly approaching I thought it was time to try out a Cold Air Intake kit (CAI) on Ivy.  A lot of these CAI seemed to keep the air fillter in the engine bay and then use heat shields or other types of  enclosure to keep the engine bay heat away from the intake.  The thing with these is they still bascially are drawing air from the engine bay or from the front of the car, behind the head light.  So when I seen the Injen CAI, I was a bit intriqued.  The Injen places the air intake/filter down low and basically out of the engine bay, where it can draw air from the lower grill and from under the car.  The Injen CAI was also reasonably priced so I decided to give it a shot!
